Motherland of bamboo is far eastern countries. But due to its high amount of export costs in Turkey manufacturing of bamboo furniture is made of Chestnut tree branches.

Chestnut tree is grown in humid and moistures climates. Chestnut branches are known as sucker branches. Its fibres are not spiral but plain and because of this the raw material has the ability of flexibility.

Chestnut branc does not have a pitch - pine and resin. Chestnut branch that has a sepecific density does not affected from hot and cold when its specific density is removed by means of kiln-dry.

Chestnut branch and chestnut timber is the least affected material from humidity and sun. It is especially used in buildings which are on water, waterside houses, bridges, jetties, yachts and ski. In the previous years the timber of the chestnut tree and the branches were left to dry for about 5 and 7 years and it was waited to get the % humidity but with the last technical developments it is now kiln-dried and the wood is dried about % 75.

Like all other massif trees, in order to keep the wood from being infested by the worms the wood has to be impregnated.

Impregnation: It is the process of making the wood absorbs different chemical materials. This process is applied once before the handwork and it makes the material ten times dureble. It changes the wood into a material which is mode durable and healthy and by preventing it from fungus, insects, termites and sea maggots helps it to get disturbed. It is friendly to nature.

Bamboo (chestnut ) furniture if used in open areas, by varnishing once in two years with uncoloured varnish ( in closed areas 4-5 years) , can be used between 15-30 years.
